Open Range Records is based out of the great hole of Mansfield, Ohio.
News:
11/12 Almost 6 months after the last update. And oh what a rough 6 months it has been..anyway, The final batch is ready to go. Buy it up. Hot 3"s from Stone Baby and Ben Nash and a long ago recorded Gorman/Martini Dreamer split cassette. Thanks to everyone for their support and friendship along the way and to everyone who bought tapes or downloaded tapes or just listened some way or another. New things will come in time but Open Range is laid down.
06/04 FINALLY! New batch droppin' with two long long planned release. First up, the incredible Open Range Compilation, seriously been in the making for how long now? Well it's done and ready GET IT. Then there's the awesome Vesuvan tape that was supposed to be part of batch #1 but has had so many set backs and changes it's crazy, but who cares now, it's here!
Mail Worker: So what kind of music is it?
Me: Uh..Well..It's kinda..weird. I Don't know.
Mail Worker: So like Ministry?
Me: Oh..Wow..Uh..No..Weirder and different. Like noisey.
Mail Worker: Oh Oh Alright. So like Nine Inch Nails? Man Trent Reznor freaks me out sometimes. Me and my kid just listen to a lot of Slayer and Lamb of God you know. His Mom hates that stuff though haha
Me: Yeah..thanks Jay
Mail Worker: Sure thing Business Man, see you next week
P.S. US Prices went down a little, but International went up a little. Sorry, trying to find that sweet spot where I'm not overcharging but I'm not losing a bunch of money! Difficult stuff with postage going up what seems like monthly.
04/02 New York kicked my ass, and Chicago stole my heart. Again. Now it's time to kick out some jamz. It's about time a new batch hit. I've been super anxious for this one for a while. Maybe if I drop out of college the releases will come faster..anyway, new jamz from Ajilvsga, Nonhorse, and Sean McCann (of Saints). Best batch yet. Get 'em before they're gone bros.
02/20 New Batch time! Four new releases for you to snag. A new CDR from Gorman, paired with two new Gorman cassettes (including the next chapter in the Holy Eightfold Path project) and a new Vesuvan cassette! Orders will ship when I get back from New York next week.
01/24 New Batch! Psych-folk double-team with tapes from Texas dreamers Headdress & Portland's Cursillistas. Plus the first in a series of 8 c30s from the drone's of Gorman.
12/13 Staying home sick from work gave me the time to finish up the Subway Boxcar 2x3" a bit earlier than planned. Now available.
12/10 The first three releases are available! The debut one-sided c40 by Mansfield-native guitar-drone duo Tones of Dirt & Bone, a c30 packed with tape manipulation and disorienting soundscapes from Canada's own Fossils, and a c30 from Nick Marino's Northport New York porch pick-n-drone project Screen House Music. Check 'em out and stick around for more soon!
